Shaking the Tree: Sixteen Golden Greats

A cracking album from the ex Genesis front man, I had the MP3 version of this album and now have it on CD.My favourites are - Solsbury Hill, I don't remember, Sledgehammer, Mercy Street, Don't give up, Red rain, Games without frontiers, Shock the monkey, I have the touch, Big time and Biko.

Everything was spot on

I received the 1990 album not the later one (2009 I think) as advertised. Sound quality was poor. Also jumped on one of the tracks.

Amazing artist,amazing album.

This is a decent overview of Peter Gabriel's early solo career (1977-1990) although, as is often the case with compilations, one can quibble with several of the selections - for instance, I would have chosen the powerful 'Intruder' from Gabriel 3 rather than 'I Don't Remember' whilst I agree with other reviewers that the original version of 'Here Comes The Flood' is far superior to the version served up here. Generally though, this is a very well-conceived album and it is great to hear the likes of 'Solsbury Hill', the marvellous 'Family Snapshot', 'Red Rain', 'Sledgehammer' and the gorgeous 'Don't Give Up' on 1 disc which offers comfortably more than 60 minutes entertainment. This is a solid introduction to what were arguably Peter Gabriel's 'glory years' and is definitely worth investing in if you haven't heard this material before.

ALL the songs on this cd are very listenable (unless you don't like Peter Gabrial/Genesis.SO, is the best album yet, but this cd is sooooo close as regards marks out of 10, quality and uniqueness.20/10

Apart from the small number of well known songs on this album, most of it is quite bland and forgettable.

Has great songs on this album definitely was worth a buy
