ANOTHER DEFECTIVE CAR...
Purchased this vehicle on March 7th, just opened the car on April 13th (because my 12 y/o son’s play-cave was under construction). I know these cars are sensitive, so I had my son wait to open the car. Finishing the play-cave took longer than expected. The car will not connect, rendering it useless. This is the 2nd car that hasn’t worked, but because of the delay to open this one, I am eating the cost, becauseI cannot return the vehicle. I went on Anki’s website & followed all reccomendation to connect the car to the app, and still no luck. I will email Anki & see if there is anything that can be done. Anyway, the racetrack is a GREAT concept, however, delivery is really poor, at best. 2 cars have been defective & another spins out & runs off the track, even after wiping it clean & wiping the track etc...We spend more time trying to get things to work, than actually playing with it. Save yourself the $$ and headache & purchase something else that actually works. If something should change with Anki support,I will update the review.

Bad internal LiPo battery out of the box.
After I received my new Big Bang superstar and testing it, it won't hold a charge. I get about 25 laps out of it before I get a low battery warning. Luckily I'm a electronics engineer and had a new spare 100mAH lipo battery. I replaced it and now i have the expected runtime. It costed me $6 for the battery and about 15 minutes to resolder the new battery in. At $75/hr labor and the spare part the repair was worth $24.75. That's more than I paid for the supercar.

Too tall to use with Anki Elevation Kits
I love Anki OVERDRIVE. I've purchased at least two of every car, truck, starter pack and accessory for my kids. However, Freewheel is the only truck that I've taken issue with. Freewheel is too tall to use with the Anki Elevation Kits. It constantly gets stuck under any bridges on the track. Because this was a gift and my son loves this truck, a return wasn't likely going to happen. Rather, we used a couple of books to elevate the Anki Elevation Kits. Ha. Anyway, the product description should be updated to reflect that it's physically too tall to use with the Anki Elevation Kits.

Healthy lithium battery lottery.
These toys are great, but the small battery loses charge and gets damage while in storage. I ordered two different vehicles, the Big Bang and the Thermo. Out of the box the Big Bang had a dead battery zero volts and a little puffy. The Thermos battery was at one volt. The Big Bang will get a new battery, but the Thermo might be ok. Will use the "Hubsan H111 RC Drone Li-Po Battery 3.7v 100mAh 18mm x 15mm" from ebay. Will update with results.

These are old and batteries will not last, no support.
Update 12/31/2019: Another failure as the battery does not last past 1 minute. No support, not worth replacing. Back they all go.So my son was crushed this Christmas due to a toy that is no longer in business. However we did get this to work with his kid kindle after first loading it to an iPhone then loading it on his tablet. His attitude was uplifted once we got everything working. And it’s pretty cool overall. However due to lacking support you really have to tinker to do most anything even something simple like adding an extra car.Not worth it.

Bad batteries
Bought one, battery would not last even one whole race, died after just a couple of laps. Opened the car and the battery was swollen - I attempted to replace the battery myself and ended up damaging the car in the process so it stopped working altogether. So I bought another one and there was the same exact problem, battery died very quickly, opened it and the battery in the new one was also swollen. Luckily my second attempt at replacing the battery was successful and the second car works well. Tip for replacing the battery: don't desolder the old battery wires, cut them and leave a small section so that you can solder the new battery wires to the leftover wires without risking damaging delicate elements while desoldering/soldering wires to the board - use of heat shrink solder sleeves is advisable when this method is used.

fired this up last night, not disappointed
When you see this in the box you wonder how it will do on the track. And it's true that you can't use the jump...and I would recommend at least a slightly extended track. But other than that the supertruck is a great addition. When you're in the smaller car you definitely need to think about how to carefully pass it! And there were several really exciting moments when my son was about to crash into the back of my car and I had to jerk into the outside lane to avoid being hit. Speaking of ramming, the truck definitely brings that threat to the track. However--and I am really impressed by this--even when the smaller cars are rammed from behind by the truck they stay on the track much much more than you would think. Great purchase.

They just don't have good batteries,
I recently bought 3 new Anke cars (different kinds) and they almost never make it through a complete race on a fresh charge without dying. What's worse, the batteries are hard wired and require an EE degree to replace. That's just dumb. For what was originally a $50 car (got it only sale) it should last more than a typical rechargeable battery.Just don't bother. It's such a neat concept toy that is just so poorly executed. Watching the cars learn the track, controlling via bluetooth. It's just awesome... if only it worked. :(

Freewheel the Supertruck
Freewheel is a great addition to any Overdrive fleet, I am lucky enough to own Nuke and Guardian too, and have tested them against Freewheel. They are no match to him, but there is still great fun and hilarious gameplay when he is used. The Takeover game-mode is my favourite, and it is really fast-paced, even more so than battle race. It can take a while to get going at the start of a race but once you begin to unleash RAGE you have a very high chance of winning, I personally like to use Nuke against him with his powerful weapons. A little secret too: He is immune to tractor beams and scramblers. He is so powerful that a team of three silver AI commanders using Groundshock, Skull, and Nuke could not even begin to get any points in the king of the hill game mode. So if you're all about armour, weapons and sheer strength than this is the one for you, he can also shove cars out of the way easily, though there are a few things to consider before buying:Do you own a jump kit? Trucks just can't use them. Are you a skilled driver? RAGE can be really fast and you need to drive carefully on corners, at times. Thanks for reading my review!

Super Priced
If you have OverDrive, you will know that the Super Trucks were the last real addition prior to 'Anki' going bust and 'Digital Dream Labs' taking over the shop. This expansion added new games and modes to the already popular platform but were costly, however this was only £21.00 when I bought which was unbelievable. I know that there is a risk that the platform could be defunct but it still has an app and DDL look to be looking to new content. So we will have to wait see. This adds a lot of fun for the platform at an affordable price.Highly recommend to OverDrive owners.

Nuke, the ultimate supercar.
This Supercar has to be the most underrated expansion product in the whole of Overdrive. Had him for six months now and once you get your hands on the glorious level three decimator and level two disintegrator he is simply UNSTOPPABLE. He has three points of defense less ths Big Bang but makes up for it with three more speed points. Many people, I would say, are going to pick Nuke Phantom, but he has the same weapons and support items, I don't see any difference, apart from the small bit more Speed, even if the firepower and special are also higher I am pretty sure they are no different in game as it is the SAME ITEMS. Looks epic, drives well. in other words, Over-Powered! The easiest and perhaps only safe way to disable this guy in one shot, before he uses his fuel bomb, is with the Golden Sniper (the exclusive weapon to the one shot game mode) or the Level three charge beam on Groundshock, which could easily take out Big Bang in a fully charged shot. My personal favourite out of Guardian, Skull, Freewheeel, Groundshock and him. Thanks for reading! :D

Adds gametype and is fast
I was surprised how good this was, it can easily compete with the cars and adds another gametype to the ones available. The rage mode is a bit pointless as it just means it comes off the track but still fun

Guardian the Supercar
Epic addition to the team. Scramblers and Scramble mines makes the cars dive diagonally side to side, rendering them without means of offense or defense. So good for the classic Battle-Race, as these slow them down also (the scramblers). Sonic beam is useful and I would choose him for almost any race. The range of different special items and stats/weapons similar to Groundshock make a one on one very tense. Looks cool, drives fast, attacks hard! Yes, that sums him up. Just two things to note:He has low defense, I know, I know. But he can drive away as he is one of the fastest supercars or simply scramble or area-of-effect tractor beam whoever is tagtailing. He has three available weapons, but can only use two at a time. Thanks for reading my review! ;)
