Storz & Bickel MIGHTY

It’s a chunky piece of work, feels very solid in my hand. Although it’s meant to be portable, it’s not exactly small or discreet – if the Pax V3 is like a recorder, the Mighty is a set of decent sized panpipes! The image is my Mighty next to my LG TV Remote, so hopefully that gives a good idea of how big it is.Straight out of the box, the Mighty is easy to use. There is the option to use dosing caps provided, as well as a handy little grinder/storage thing, but I didn’t use them. The heating time to 201 didn’t feel particularly long (possibly because I vape at home so there were other things I could do with my time) and the first inhale was cool and tasted very green. As it heated for longer, the temperature on my lips never reached an uncomfortable state, didn’t make me cough or cause discomfort, so all good. Loading the Mighty can get a little messy and sometimes I could see bits of herb getting caught in the little threads alongside the bowl at the top – no doubt, I’ll see those again when I do a full clean-through!I have read a few people saying that going from smoking joints to vaping means that they have felt a lessening of the effect of their herb. I didn’t find that – I was still floating if that was the smoking effect, but it was a gentler high and didn’t seem to last as long. Saying that, one bowl from the Mighty was enough to make me feel no pain from my knees or back, and send me off to sleep.I have not dismantled my Mighty all the way down. I have taken apart the cooling unit and cleaned it and the bowl with ISO, changed the filter from the mouthpiece and put it back together again. I was a little bit concerned taking it apart even this small amount because I was worried about breaking/snapping pieces off. However, the Mighty was more than sturdy enough and once I accepted that I wasn’t going to cause any damage, I found it easy to put together again with no mishaps.Charging-wise, the Mighty has a good length cable and I bought a 3D printed stand from Amazon as it doesn’t stand up alone due to the rounded bottom, and it sits neatly on a shelf whilst charging overnight. The battery seems to last me for approximately two sessions so I can use it easily for micro-dosing throughout the day. I’m not sure how well it would last if you were taking it out and about.I know that Storz & Bickel have brought out a newer version of the Mighty (the Mighty Plus) which cost just over £300 at the time I was purchasing. They have also brought out a completely new vape called the Venty which is over £400 – I don’t think I’m ready for that commitment just yet! However, Storz & Bickel have an excellent reputation in the vaping field, and based on my experiences with the Mighty it is well deserved. Since purchasing it, I have pretty much stopped using my Pax V3 as the Mighty services all of my needs without hassle. I might consider getting the Mighty Plus if I see it in a sale or have a voucher as I understand it charges using a USB-C cable which would probably come in handy for lessening all of the charging cables I have plugged in.At some point, I will have to disassemble the whole unit to give it a good clean – I must admit, I’m not looking forward to that because I’m a little scared of inadvertently breaking/messing up the unit but that’s an issue for future me – in the meantime, I’m quite happy with my Mighty and don’t hesitate to recommend it.

I spent a lot of time researching vaporisers. It's a new thing for me, I don't smoke (in any semse of the word) and hadn't had a need prior for one.I'd recently got medically prescribed thc/cbd and needed a vaporiser for the flower part. I researched what was best for my budget and this one seemed to tick all the boxes.I was originally going to go for the more compact model but upon comparing the two, decided it was worthwhile going with the larger Mighty as it seemed a better unit overall, even if it's a larger less discreet size.The unit is very easy to use. It comes with everything you need as a starter set, including a grinder and Storage/capsule filler.It has an excellent instruction manual and it outlines how to clean the unit.I would recommend using the dosing capsule and buy more. Firstly because it helps to plan in advance, if you are going out and you have the right dose in a handy for to just place in the unit and go.But more importantly (for me) is that it helps to minimise mess, and makes cleaning the unit much easier, prolongs the filters etc. The capsule keeps everything inside so it's easy to place in and take out (once cooled) of the machine. If you pack it loose, you have less control of your content matter.The supplied capsule filler and brush are very useful. The grinder - I'm not an expert by any stretch - but I'd say the grinder is low quality compared to the machine and capsule filler/storage. I'd recommend buying a different grinder, in all honesty.The vaporiser comes with spares for the machine as well as a couple dosing capsules. Reading the blurb, it seems that these capsules are made for single use, however, I'm reusing mine and don't see any issues with that, as long as you're careful with it as they are fairly soft metal, especially the lid. Once the lid is on, you can extract the capsule and put it into your vaporiser.I would recommend this one, it uses convection and combustion so you can extract what you need from your contents and the temperature control gives a decent scale depending on how fast and hot you want to extract.Five stars all round, aside from the grinder. It doesn't grind well and I spend more time trying to extract what it's failed to grind well.
