This is just a kit, no larvae comes with it
It was a good and fun class project for my class. Although sadly two out of 6 caterpillars didn’t make it through the cocoon stage. This kit is the cheapest ,and you will have to pay for shipping for the butterfly larvae.

Butterflies are beautiful
OK, so this was so much fun! I am an adult and I bought this! Obviously, I know it’s for kids, but I just love butterflies, and I thought that this would be a fun project for me in the spring which it was! Super easy instructions, and it would be great for kids because it has a little educational booklet that you can follow along with, and Learn things about butterflies and how they build their cocoons and how they go from caterpillars to butterflies. it’s pretty interesting actually! When this arrived, it had a voucher coupon code that I then used to type in to the website where I purchased the caterpillars and then I received them. I think seven days later , everything worked so smoothly with that website as well. It took me a total of five minutes to find the voucher go to the website and purchase the caterpillars. It’s really great if you like having goals to look forward to and it’s something very interesting to learn, and you get to see the process!

Cool Experience!
Cool Experience! But there were flaws (with anything naturally). When we put in the order for our caterpillars, we received 6 (not 5) which was awesome! The habit was easy to pop up for use. The instructions for caring for the caterpillars and butterflies were easy to follow, and simple. The sad part - not all 6 of our caterpillars made it .... 3 of them never made it to the top of the jar when they turned into a chrysalis, so they had to be moved to the bottom of the habitat when transferred. Out of those 3, only 1 actually came out of the chrysalis and dried it's wings. The other 2 got stuck inside and we're living on their backs. We unfortunately had to squish them because they weren't going to live if they couldn't drink the sugar-water or fly away.Overall, this was a cool experience to watch over time. We checked on their progress every day!

Amazing experience for all ages.
I bought this for my 5 year old nephew and he loves it! Honestly, I love it too! Great learning opportunity for children and amazing experience for all ages. Loved being able to monitor and keep track of every step of the process. Caterpillars arrived 2 days after shipping and shipped 2 days after purchase. Tiny caterpillars became chubby right before our eyes and are now in cocoons! Nature is incredible!

Very cool and nostalgic
Very neat kit! I was a little worried because they were shipped at one of the hotter moments in Arizona, they were left in the USPS mailbox for a few hours before I got to them. That first day appeared to be comatose but, all six caterpillars eventually turned into butterflies almost 3 weeks later. The live caterpillars cost a total of $10 to be shipped to me, but I would definitely buy them again. This kit is reusable.**Quick disclaimer, if you've never had a kit before, and you happen to catch the butterflies emerging. Don't be alarmed... It's not blood, they'll be fine lol
